We're also delighted to share with you that 10% of all CICII proceeds made in 2021 were donated to community-based non-profit charities and institutions supporting the wellbeing of women within African and Caribbean communities Sistah Space.

About Culture Is Currency II (CICII)


Culture is Currency II is the enlightening, moving, and stunning sequel to the ‘Culture Is Currency’ Exhibition from interdisciplinary artist Sharyh Murray Francis (SMF).


In this combination of original visual art, memoir, literary theory and interviews, discover the abundance and diversity within black culture through fascinating stories of the past and present. Embark on a creative and insightful journey across West African, Caribbean and diaspora cultures through an imaginative exploration and celebration of black identity.


Culture Is Currency II pays homage to the community that shaped the artist, and to the creative storytellers illustrating the richness within it.





About the Author

Sharyh Murray Francis is a multi-hyphenated change agent, entrepreneur, self-published author and creative artist on a mission to inspire positive transformation. She’s a youth ministry leader at her local church, and an avid writer, holding both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in English Literature from the University of Surrey.
